This one is hard for me because I cry listening to alot of songs. Which for those of you who know me- is not too suprising. Maybe I will just list them and some of you will be like, "what?" but here they are:
In my daughter's eyes- Martina McBride. This is an obvious one, especially now since I have a daughter of my own. The line that really gets me is: "One day she will grow up and someday leave, maybe raise a family. When I'm gone I hope she'll see how happy she made me, for I'll be there, in my daughter's eyes" Talk about a tear jerker!
Here- Rascal Flatts. The first time I heard this song, I had just found out I was pregnant with Johnny. I know it's a song about a guy and girl relationship and how he finally found true love, but give it a listen and you'll know what I mean.
The Dance- Garth Brooks. Classic Garth song. Could have missed the pain, but I'd a had to miss the dance.
Help me understand- Trace Adkins. Weird I know, but I used to listen to this song while dating my husdand. Lots of ups and downs..... cryed alot in the car to this one.
To make you feel my love- Garth Brooks. My dad learned how to play this on the guitar and played it for my step mom. "You ain't seen nothin' like me yet..."
I love you! You picked songs that I would pick. I want The Dance sung at my funeral.
ReplyDeleteHA! I cry a lot listening to songs, and most of them are country songs..
ReplyDeleteThe one that ALWAYS gets me is Carrie Underwoods Temporary Home. The last verse makes me think of my dad:)
Okay, I just listened to Rascal Flatts "Here" out of curiosity, and I bawled. Brook, I am so glad that you are a mommy now and that we were able to sort of make that journey together. Seeing you with your children, I can't ever imagine you before them. Thanks for sharing that sweet song with me!
ReplyDeleteHere is another tear jerker, "you'll always be my baby" by Sara Evans. Give that one a listen and grab some kleenex!
